These devices, which have been on the market for just over a year, will make it possible to anticipate any type of technical failure in the subsystems of Vienna Metro vehicles connected to the communication bus, enabling cost reduction and avoiding service interruptions.
So far, five sets have been installed on five units and are in the testing phase. The installation will subsequently be expanded to another 61 units until the first fleet is completed next year.
The Dataloggers collect information from the MVB bus and send it to Vienna Metro headquarters for predictive maintenance. The control room is centralized in the line 3 depot, where all data is automatically processed and provided for the maintenance staff.
