Hutchison Logistics Synergy has announced a new freight service, with three weekly connections in both directions, between the terminal in Port of Barcelona and the city of Toulouse. The new rail service will start in November, with the possibility of transporting 108 TEUs each way.

The aim is to offer shippers in the area an improvement in the transit of their goods. As the company says: ‘we want to bring our customers closer to one of the most modern and efficient container terminals in the world, the BEST terminal, with more than 200 direct maritime connections’.
As the port of Barcelona has the three European gauges, this new service does not require a change of locomotive nor any kind of stop at the Spanish-French border, which will improve travel times.
Synergy will operate with the rail resources of Captrain, from the SNCF group, which will in turn allow this service to be connected from Toulouse to other inland rail terminals in France such as Bordeaux. Synergy will also provide an all-inclusive service that includes the support of the Cargo Solutions customs department and the coverage of the last mile with trucks.
