Energisation tests of catenary system for extension of Mexico´s Suburban Train



Azvi´s Mexican subsidiary, Cupisa, has carried out the first energisation tests of the catenary system for the Suburban Train extension linking Buenavista in Mexico City with Felipe Ángeles International Airport (AIFA).

These tests verified the electrical continuity, grounding, mechanical strength, and the proper operation of protection systems ahead of the start of railway operations, according to Cupisa. To carry out the project, more than 60 km of overhead contact line, seven turnouts and 40 sectioning switches have been installed, and it has also included the electrification of tracks serving sidings and rolling stock inspection and maintenance areas.
