The Chilean State Railway Company (EFE) has selected IDOM to participate in the country’s railway modernisation project with virtual signalling and Automatic Train Protection (ATP) systems. It will provide review, engineering validation, and technical supervision services.

This project will implement virtual signalling and ATP systems across 1,965 kilometres of the EFE network, excluding services already equipped with ATP and the Arica–La Paz branch line. According to the company, ‘under the contract, IDOM will validate the engineering developed by Alstom, supervise, inspect, and monitor the implementation of the new systems, and assist EFE in the rollout of the operational model, while also providing specialized safety consulting (RAMS) and support in the development of the Safety Case’.
