This section includes the development of the stations at Apaseo el Grande, Celaya, Cortázar, Salamanca and Irapuato, as well as the realignment of the track layout and the reconfiguration of the Irapuato marshalling yard, according to Comsa. This project forms part of the construction of a new railway line in the Bajío region, in the centre of the country, which will boost industrial and logistics activity in the area.
