The contract signed by the consortium as a whole involves billing the Saudi Government approximately €300 million per year for operation and maintenance services, so the five-year extension will mean a figure of around €1.5 billion. The agreement also includes the acquisition of 20 new trains from Talgo worth €1.332 billion. These trains will have each 13 cars with a capacity for over 400 passengers.
