Uromac to supply electric draisines to TMB

Transports Metropolitans de Barcelona (TMB) has acquired two new 100% electric railcars from Uromac for the maintenance of the metro network's overhead contact line. The contract is part of the operator’s decarbonization and sustainability process.

The acquisition of these new auxiliary rail vehicles will eliminate diesel and noise emissions, allowing for 100% sustainable work, and improving the working environment for operators. These new electric railcars will be equipped with a lifting platform for carrying out overhead contact line inspections and repairs. The accessibility and ease of movement within the railcar, as well as visibility in both directions, provide a comfortable and safe working environment for both personnel on board and around the vehicle during maintenance work.
