The winning consortium will carry out the detailed design and construction of the 136.48 km section between Arroyo El Sauz and Nuevo Laredo on the Saltillo-Nuevo Laredo railway corridor, segments 18, 19 and 20. The bid submitted amounts to €592 million.

This corridor, with a total length of 396.34 kilometres, will connect the states of Coahuila, Nuevo León and Tamaulipas. Saltillo–Nuevo Laredo is shaping up to be a key project for improving regional mobility, with 11 diesel-electric trains, capacity for up to 500 passengers and modern infrastructure that will include viaducts, tunnels and accessible spaces.
