Renfe complies with all the safety requirements and has obtained the certified by the European Union Agency for Railways (ERA). To obtain this safety certificate, the operator has had to overcome the requirements imposed by the French Safety Agency (EPSF). Although in Spain the safety certificate is extended to operate on the entire General Interest Railway Network (RFIG), in France the EPSF requirements only allow obtaining the certificate to operate on specific lines. Therefore, the certificate obtained by Renfe on December 22 only refers to the Perpignan-Lyon and Perpignan-Marseille lines.

According to the plans of the operator, once the training of the train drivers is completed and all the necessary qualifications are obtained, Renfe will define the transport plan, which will be progressive until reaching 28 weekly circulations.

The current training process for drivers is scheduled to continue until mid-April, and then commercial operations with Marseille and Lyon are expected to start. In a first phase, the Madrid-Marseille and Barcelona-Lyon connections will be on alternate days, with the possibility of six weekly circulations per route, making a total of 12 circulations. In the second phase, both connections will take place every day of the week, with two circulations in each direction, which makes a total of 28 circulations. The objective is to launch these new high-speed services before the summer.
