Comsa will take part in the maintenance of La Dorada-Chiriguaná railway corridor in Colombia



Comsa´s subsidiary in Colombia, as a member of the San Felipe Férreo consortium, which also includes the local company Castro Tcherassi, has been awarded the contract for the maintenance, conservation and improvement of the La Dorada-Chiriguaná railway corridor in Colombia.

The project, awarded by the Agencia Nacional de Infraestructura for an amount of 15.7 million Euros, will provide continuity to the rail freight operation, area in which more than 89,000 tonnes were mobilised in 2022.

The works, which include the maintenance of stations, the rehabilitation and repair of turnouts and the installation of signalling, will improve logistical efficiency, enabling a 26% reduction in transport costs.

The La Dorada-Chiriguaná corridor is 522 kilometres long and connects the interior of the country with the Caribbean region, through the departments of Caldas, Antioquia, Santander, Norte de Santander, and Cesar.
