(28/10/2019)

The agreement between Azvi and the German company Rail. One is the answer to a project launched by Norway’s railway infrastructure manager Bane Nor to increase the capacity on the line connecting the cities of Arna and Bergen, a project which was awarded to Azvi.

The contract, Azvi’s first in Norway, amounts to 508.43 million Norwegian kroner (about 53 million euros) and involves a 9-km long section that includes the 6.9 km of tunnel in addition to track maintenance, telecommunications, high and low voltage and catenary.

Works will be carried out in two phases. Following the first phase, which will last for two years, works will be stopped for the construction of the new Arna station, the opening of the new Ulriken tunnel and the refurbishment, with slab track, of the original tunnel.
