Ardanuy Ingeniería to design power supply system for two new lines of Bangalore Metro



Bangalore Metro Rail Corporation has awarded Ardanuy Ingeniería the contract for the design of the power supply system, third rail traction to 750 Vcc and Scada System of the two new lines that will expand the transportation network of the Indian city of Bangalore.

The consortium made up of Ardanuy Ingeniería and Ardanuy India Pvt will thus participate in the implementation of the two new lines for the Bangalore Metro: the Airport Line and the ORR Line. Both lines will have a total length of 53.68 kilometres and 30 stations between them.

The lines will serve one million passengers by 2040. The project will cost an estimated 750 million euros for the ORR Line and around 1,325 million euros for the Airport Connection Line. The metro network expansion works will be divided into two phases. Phase II A corresponds to the ORR Line and will run along 17 kilometres with 13 stations. Phase II B will connect the metro line to the airport with a section length of 36.68 kilometres and 17 stations.
