Bi-State Development, the interstate public agency that operates the public transportation services in the St. Louis metropolitan area, has awarded the contract, which encompasses the design, manufacture and supply of the new state-of-the-art vending machines set to replace the current machines, also supplied by Indra between 2006 and 2012. In addition to the equipment located in the 38 St. Louis Metro network stations, Indra will also be tasked with implementing a cloud-based management system to monitor, control and maintain the ticket vending machines.

The new systems, based on Indra’s Mova Collect line of solutions, will offer a more cutting-edge aesthetic, larger screens and full accessibility. They are also designed to adapt to the extreme environmental conditions characterizing the St. Louis area. Moreover, the new ticketing solutions will be fitted for the potential incorporation of technologies that apply artificial intelligence and machine learning.
