The contract, which includes the passenger information system, the public address and intercom system, and the video-surveillance system, is a continuation of the collaboration between CAF and GMV, which have already been working together on the equipment of the onboard systems on Lisbon’s tramway since March 2022.

Line 1 of the Athens Metro, known as the green line, connects Piraeus to the town of Kifissia, north of the capital. The trains of this project began running between 1983 and 1985 and, after being renovated by CAF to operate efficiently for another 25 years, will now equate GMV’s systems.
