Malaga held the 7th MAFEX International Railway Convention, which brought together transport experts from the five continents in order to discuss and analyse the future of mobility, learn about new plans of investment and explore collaboration possibilities and business opportunities.

The Convention responds to the high level of internationalization of the Spanish railway sector and the firm commitment to innovation, with the aim of promoting its effects in society, economy and employment.
In addition to the topics of analysis presented in the technical seminars, there were about 500 direct meetings between the foreign guests and the Spanish companies and organizations participating in the convention in order to study new collaboration possibilities and explore business opportunities.
Among the countries represented in Malaga were Argentina, Australia, Brazil, Bulgaria, China, Colombia, Czech Republic, Holland, Egypt, Greece, Israel, Japan, Jordan, Lithuania, Morocco, Peru, Portugal, Romania, United Kingdom, Senegal, Serbia, Singapore, South Korea, Taiwan, Thailand, the Philippines and Turkey.
The Convention included a technical visit to Malaga Metro and a trip in a Spanish high-speed train (AVE) to Cordoba, with a previous visit to Malaga María Zambrano railway station.
