Designed to be installed in maintenance depots, the system is capable of measuring the height and thickness of the wheel flange, the qR factor, the back-to-back distance and the wheel diameter.

The DWPM helps railway vehicle operators and maintainers by automating the wheel profile measuring process and the transfers of captured data to other systems for their analysis and traceability. Other benefits are evaluation of the wear rate, recommendation of appropriate profile for wheel turning, and prognosis of wheelset machining and replacement dates.
