(14/07/2015)  The SDO, which detects the presence of objects and people in tracks at stations, is already installed at Barcelona Metro’s Trinitat Nova station, and is currently entering an implementation phase at La Floresta station, of Ferrocarrils de la Generalitat de Catalunya (FGC).

The system reduces costs since it allows the removal of equipment such as platform screen doors; it can be easily installed without the service been affected, even at old stations, and it can be integrated with other technologies.

The SDO, a low cost solution to automate a line, is suitable for both outdoor and indoor installation; it detects any kind of object with a detection speed of 100 ms; it has easy maintenance and it fits any station topology and length.
