(29/06/2015)  Registering 100% passenger occupancy and accommodating a total of 414 passengers per trip, the train covered the 440 km line, the second most important railway line in the country, in 3 hours and 35 minutes.

These trains, commercially known as Strizh, can reach a maximum speed of 200 km/h and are formed of 20 coaches each (18 passenger and 2 technical coaches), painted in the colours of the Russian flag. The train sets are equipped with Talgo’s natural tilting system’s technology.

Frequency of trains

Initially, the number of trips will be 5 on a daily basis and since July up to 7 journeys per day, some trains running on the direct route between Moscow and Nizhny Novgorod; others making intermediate stops in the cities of Vladimir, Kovrov and Dzerzhinsk.

The other 3 of the 7 train sets ordered in 2011 by Russian Railways (RZD) will enter commercial operation next year on the international route between Moscow and Berlin.

These trains will incorporate Talgo’s variable gauge system that will enable them to change from the Russian gauge (1520 mm) to the European one (1435 mm) in the Belorussian city of Brest.
