(29/06/2015)  In operation since 2013, Citram monitors the whole region´s public transport system in real time. Over 40 transport operators participate in this project, which makes it possible to improve coordination between the modes of transport and support decision-making in the day-to-day operations thanks to the intensive use of information and communication technologies.

From this centre over 20,000 cameras located in infrastructures, coaches and buses are supervised; more than 6,000 passenger information panels are controlled; and the location of over 5,000 vehicles is known in real time. To manage all this information, the Transport Consortium has developed tailor-made tools that integrate the data from each mode of transport into a single platform, which allows actions from a global system approach.

The centre provides real-time information for users and operators, works with multimodal approach procedures thanks to its global view of the system and is a key element when it comes time to coordinate and make decisions in cases of emergency.
