The contract, which has been awarded by the State of Ceará’s Secretary for Infrastructure, will last for 48 months and has a budget of 1,470 million Brazilian reals (about 350 million euros).

The project includes 7.3 kilometres of tunnelling, of which six kilometres will be undertaken using tunnel boring machines, four underground stations (Central Chico da Silva, Colegio Militar, Nunes Valente and Papicú) and one ground-level station (Tirol-Moura Brasil). In addition, strengthening work in tunnels will be carried out in those places where it is planned to build the stations of Catedral and Luiza Távora, not covered in this phase.
