(25/07/2018)
The procurement process, in which CAF will compete against Alstom, Bombardier and Hitachi joining forces for this tender, Siemens and Talgo, involves the design, manufacture and maintenance of at least 54 trains, which will come into service from 2026. Trains are required to be capable of reaching a maximum speed of 360 km/h.

CAF, which will submit its Oaris high-speed train to the HS2 bidding process, is currently building a new production plant in Newport, Wales, in which it plans to invest 38 million euros.
