Paseo de Gracia train station refurbishment receives commendation at Brunel Awards

(17/11/2014)  This project was recognised in the "Stations" category for the enlargement of the concourse area, the improvement of accessibility with the installation of new escalators and lifts and the renovation of the illumination fixtures, which makes the Paseo de Gracia station an attractive and bright place ready for the new era and needs of the future.

This makeover, carried out by Adif with an investment of 12 million euros, was put into service on 29th January 2014 with the aim of guaranteeing accessibility, creating new access cores and completing the new platform configuration, partially implemented in a first phase of the project.

In addition, the public use area in the main concourse was increased to 135 square metres and a new concourse was built that is 265 square metres, of which 100 belong to the access shared with Metro and 165 are for the exclusive use of railway service’s clients. A new area for internal use of 100 square metres was also built.
