(14/07/2014)  The Spanish Railway Association (MAFEX) gathered in Bilbao a large group of railway experts from around the world to discuss the future of metro and tram networks as well as some of the major projects that are to be performed in the coming years.

To do this, the conference was attended by representatives of the metros of Almaty (Kazakhstan), Cairo (Egypt), Lima (Peru), Panama (Panama), Singapore (Singapore), Istanbul (Turkey), Algiers (Algeria) and Tel Aviv (Israel).

The agenda of the conference was complemented by a round of individual meetings between international experts and representatives of the Spanish companies, as well as technical visits to Bilbao’s Metro and Tram and several facilities and factories from participating companies.

The conference also had the support of the Basque Agency for Enterprise Development, SPRI, Euskotren, Metro Bilbao, ETS and the Bilbao Tram.
