Teltronic to implement its Tetra system on Istanbul Metro’s new automated line



Teltronic, in collaboration with local integrator Elsitel, is to implement a Tetra communication solution on Istanbul Metro’s new Üsküdar-Ümraniye-Çekmeköy line, the first automated line in Turkey.

The solution will allow voice communication between the passengers and the control centre as well as security, maintenance and operational staff. Driver communications will also be provided.

The contract involves the communication infrastructure; the control centre designed by Teltronic for the transportation market; onboard radio equipment and 8” touchscreen consoles. Also included are the mobile and hand-portable radios through which users will communicate.

The line will be 17 km in length including 16 stations and one depot, and its rolling stock fleet will comprise 21 six-car driverless trains.
