Ferro Smart Grid to develop first railway energy management smart grid

Adif will build a prototype of a regulation node in the Ferro Smart Grid project, which is being carried out in collaboration with the University of Jaén and the companies WindInertia, Inabensa, Andel, Indra, Acisa, Telvent and Adevice. The project has a tender budget of 54,244 euros.

Ferro Smart Grid to develop first railway energy management smart grid

(14/11/2013)

The project consists in developing the first smart grid for the energy management of the railway sector, which will integrate the actions of the trains that are connected to the grid as well as other passive consumers –infrastructure auxiliary installations and electric vehicles mainly– in order to obtain an efficient, safe and sustainable electric supply.

To achieve the objective of the project, an experimental demonstrator prototype of this grip will be developed, which will allow optimum management of the system’s electric energy and an interoperability of several urban and interurban transport systems, electrically integrated through smart nodes and interacting with the user in the railway stations environment.
