FCC to carry out electromechanical installation on lines 5 and 6 of Riyadh Metro



FCC Industrial has been awarded a contract to carry out the installation of electro-mechanical services on lines 5 and 6 of the Riyadh Metro. The contract has gone to the Fast consortium, led by FCC Citizen Service Group and also including Samsung, Alstom, Strukton and Freyssinet Saudi Arabia.

The value of the awarded contract, which includes lighting, ventilation, fire-fighting and air conditioning systems on the two metro lines, is around 300 million euros and is due to be completed within 36 months.

The Fast consortium was chosen for the design and construction of lines 4, 5 and 6 of the Riyadh Metro, whose amount exceeds 6,000 million euros. The three lines consist of 25 stations and 64.6 kilometres of rail track (29.8 kilometres of viaducts, 26.6 kilometres of underground track and 8.2 kilometres of above-ground track). At present, 30% of the works have already been completed.
