(14/06/2016)

Avril is the new high-speed train by Talgo with a certification speed of 330 km/h, its dynamic performance being tested at 363 km/h.

Avril platform’s pre-series train started its movements autonomously on 3 April 2014. Since then and until the completion of the tests on 10 May 2016, the train has undergone many on-track tests, both commissioning as well as validation and certification tests. Thus, over two years, the train has been running on several high-speed lines of the Spanish network: Madrid-Seville, Madrid-Barcelona, Madrid-Valencia and Albacete-Alicante.

During this certification period, the train’s 102 characteristics required in the Technical Specification for Interoperability relating to the rolling stock subsystem of the trans-European high-speed rail system of 21 February 2008 have been assessed.
