The forum included the participation of the Directorate-General for Mobility (DG Move) of the European Commission, the European Railway Agency (ERA) and the International Energy Agency (IEA), which informed of the closing schedule of the specification of the standard for communication between on-board equipment for consumption measurement as well as data collection and traction energy invoicing systems. The different Rolling Stock and Infrastructure TSIs already consider the requirements of the interoperability certification of the components for traction energy measuring.
Other participants were railway associations UIC, CER and EIM, together with several infrastructure managers and operators (OBB, SZDC, Infrabel, Trenitalia, SNCB, Renfe and Adif), technological companies and European universities, which presented and discussed different technology and process initiatives to reduce electrical energy consumption in rail operation.
