Three Spanish companies to prepare feasibility study of the Howrah-Haldia high-speed line in India

The group formed by the engineering companies Ineco, Prointec and Ayesa will prepare the feasibility study for the high-speed corridor between the Indian cities of Howrah and Haldia, with a total length of 135 kilometres. The contract was one of the agreements on railways and roads signed with India in the recent visit of the King of Spain to the country.

A framework for collaboration between Adif and Renfe and the Indian railways public company was also established. The Indian is the largest railway company in the world, as it manages a network of 65,000 kilometres, with an approximate annual traffic of 7,500 million passengers and 1,000 million tons of goods.

Thanks to this agreement both countries will be able to work together in areas such as high speed, improving the speed of passenger trains on the existing lines, modernization of rolling stock, intermodal transport development and management of passenger stations.
