The Madrid Consortium will also be in charge of the technical leadership of the whole project, which includes the participation of 18 institutions devoted to public transport in Europe.
The main objectives of the project are defining strategies to integrate urban planning with infrastructure planning; developing new tools to achieve more efficient transport interchange stations; improving the information and operation of the interchange stations; promoting business and maintenance models that help the economy and the economic viability of these transport infrastructures and building energy-efficient interchange stations.
The participants will have 36 months to present their final results, which will be validated in cities like Paris, Rome, Budapest, Toulouse, Thessalonica, Osnabrück, Rouen, Coventry, Rotterdam, Den Bosch or Utrecht.
