(28/04/2016)

The order comes under the terms of the second option of a contract signed in 2011 with AVG and Verkehrsbetriebe Karlsruhe (VBK), which involved 25 initial vehicles and two options of up to 50 additional units. The first option for a further 25 vehicles was taken up a year ago.

The first Citylink NET 2012 vehicles, whose first lot is already entirely delivered, entered service in October 2014. The vehicles ordered under the current option are planned for delivery from the fall of 2017.

The Citylink NET 2012 is a low-floor light rail vehicle designed in Valencia and approved to run on Karlsruhe’s tramway network as well as on the regional lines operated by AVG between Hochstetten and Bad Herrenalb / Ittersbach, lines S1 and S11.
