(15/02/2012)  This is the first of the shipments that will carry a total of 11 panoramic cars, two generator vans and three locomotives, which are being rehabilitated at Feve workshops in El Berrón. The other two locomotives will be shipped to the Andean country in March.

The three panoramic cars will be incorporated to the composition that currently runs through one of the most attractive railway routes in America, the "Devil's Nose" train.
The panoramic cars come from electric express trains that were removed from service by Ferrocarrils de la Generalitat de Cataluña and acquired by Feve to undergo this transformation that, like the construction of generator vans from Feve’s freight material, has been designed by the Spanish operator’s technicians themselves.

Cruise Train

In addition to the "Devil's Nose" train, Feve collaborates in the commissioning of the Cruise Train, which will cover four day and three night journeys between Durán and Quito. To this end, another eight cars are being rehabilitated as well as the aforementioned generator vans, which will allow two compositions to be set for this service.

Transformation

All the transformation work is carried out by Feve’s subsidiary Fenit Rail with the collaboration of CDC Electromecánicos, which supplies and installs the equipment for the eight cars and performs the electricity, sound, pneumatics, plumbing and air conditioning works.

Cinttratec is in charge of the interior refurbishment of the eight cars, including the complete wooden panelling of walls and roofs and the spaces for the location of all the services. It is also in charge of the supply of all the necessary furnishings.
