In Argentina the delegation held meetings with representatives of the administration of Trenes Argentinos Infraestructura (Adifse), Trenes Argentinos Operaciones (Sofse) and with executives from the Secretariat of Planning of the Ministry of Transport. It also met representatives from Subterráneos de Buenos Aires, Metrovías, the Benito Roggio group, Technit and Trenes Argentinos Cargas.
In Uruguay there were meetings with representatives of Administración de Ferrocarriles del Estado (AFE), CFU, the Ministry of Transport and Public Work and the Abreu, Abreu & Ferres law firm.
In Argentina the Government has recently announced an investment of 14,187 million dollars (about 13,200 million euros) in the rail sector until 2023. In Uruguay there are also plans to recover the railway, especially to strengthen multimodal connections and boost freight transport.
