(28/04/2016)

Cital, which is a shared ownership between Alstom (49%), Ferrovial (41%) and EMA (10%), has its current focus on the construction and maintenance of Citadis trams.

In addition to extending its activities, Cital has reached an agreement with Algerian Railways (SNTF) to include its entry into the Cital joint venture as a shareholder, taking 10% while Ferrovial holds 31%.

SNTF intends to order 98 Coradia trains from Cital, based on Coradia Polyvalent platform in its bimodal version. This acquisition is part of the Algerian operator’s plan to extend its rail network from 3,000 km to 12,500 km by 2025, and own a larger fleet comprising modern vehicles able to circulate on various types of lines.
