The contract is valued at 158 million euros and includes the implementation of the 26 stations that make up the line, the installation of the catenary, signalling work, telecommunications, a control and maintenance centre, as well as testing prior to the entry into service.

The project was launched in 2010 and its commissioning is planned for 2020, connecting the areas of greater development in the centre of the city with a north-south route that will allow for a travel time of 42 minutes.

The line will have connections with bus, regional and intercity rail networks, and anticipates a daily demand of 35,000 passengers. The fleet to provide the service will be comprised of 14 vehicles of 30 metres in length.
